Who ever thought I could be SOOOO excited about this. It better be worth the $9.00 U.S.

My newest purchase...a toaster oven!! I am making garlic bread tonight!!!

My dinner last night was delicious. We ended up going out for Vietnamese... a place called PhoMein. it was really good, I had rice with grilled chicken and spring rolls and bean sprouts with a spicy sauce. Delicious! I also tried Korea beer, which was not very good. There is wine bar down the street and I am thinking of trying that soon with some other teachers. I barely slept last night, it was like a monsoon outside, and my whole apartment was shaking! I'm waiting out the rain so I can go outside and do something.

First Week

I have finished my first week at LCI Academy, and I am really tired. I think my jet lag has finally kicked in! I am going to lounge around all weekend, and maybe venture off to CostCo, which is a 20 minute subway ride away! I am going out to dinner tonight with the other teachers from work. We're going out for Korean Barbecue. I think its going to be awesome and delicious!

So it is Thursday night, and I have been in Korea now for about 6 days! It has been an adventure and I have loved almost every second of it. My kindergarten kids are really cute, and actually know quite a but of English. I caught a chest cold this week though, which has made my days super long! My apartment is treating me well, and I have gotten used to the size....most of the time. I ventured on the subway the other day to E-mart, which is kind of like a Walmart, accept everything is in Korea. I stuck to buying fruits and vegetables that I recognized. I went out to dinner the other night and had bibimbop, which is spicy rice and vegetables with beef and a raw egg yolk over the top served in a hot stone bowl.DELICIOUS!
