Lantern Festivities in Jinju

This past weekend I went to Jinju with some girls from work. It was a four hour bus ride from Seoul, but so worth it! We slept in a tent and had two days to enjoy the weather and the festival!

Sculptures made from recycled food boxes

Lots of crab......yummm

Eww....two things I will never eat in Korea (silk worms and min snails)

Corn dog covered in french fries....dinner of champions

"Poppin" Contest

Homemade lanterns made my festival-goers

Lanterns on the river at night

The sleeping arrangements...tents in the middle of the city right next to a track. We woke up in the morning with Korean men staring and pointing at us (the foreigners). Too funnny!

Korean Drumming Contest. We got to watch 6 different groups...it was awesome!

An all woman group...they were my favorite. They had so much energy and were so happy!

View from the temple we visited overlooking the river.
